Thank you for considering my services as you take steps towards your own healing and growth. As you review my services, I invite you to consider whether I might be a fit for your counselling goals.
I continue to be moved by the human spirit and the way that resilience and resistance are woven into the fabric of our lived experiences. I believe that the impulse to heal and grow presents itself as an inner wisdom within us all. In counselling, I strive to create a warm, safe, and supportive space for you to explore what matters most to you. I can facilitate counselling using a variety of emotional, somatic, cognitive, and behavioural approaches. In particular, I draw from narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy (body-centered therapy), and feminist therapy.
I am a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and I have a Master's degree in counselling psychology. I have provided counselling in a post-secondary setting and in the not-for-profit sector. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I was fortunate to learn and grow alongside families and individuals who experience developmental differences and disabilities. For 7 years, I worked within the disability sector providing crisis intervention, case management, program coordination, and the facilitation of behavioural training. It was in this work, early in my career, where I first learned about the depths of the human connection and the many ways in which we can share with, and hear, one another.
Outside of counselling conversations, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and connecting with nature. I have deep gratitude for the mountains; it is in exploring the ridges and valleys of the mountains that I re-connect with a sense of inner peace. I am also passionate about anti-oppressive social movements.
I look forward to connecting with you,
